The Chateau

The Chateau is 160 years old. Built during the reign of Louis Philippe, not for defence but to impress. The 9 acre park surrounding the Chateau provides a restful environment.

Your stay at the Chateau will be a memorable one, not just for the good food, wine and company but also for the experience of stepping back in time. The five bedrooms in the Chateau, all named after local rivers, are light and airy and the decoration will allow you a peek into the era of Louis Philippe, though with the benefit of modern conveniences! All of the bedrooms in the Chateau (and the two in the Trincou Cottage) have ensuite bath or shower rooms. We can accommodate those wanting one double or queen size bed in one room, those wanting two double beds in one room or two single beds in one room. So we can mix and match to meet your needs!

All of our rooms have pretty views, either over the village with its ancient church or the gardens with their tree lined alleys.

In the licensed bar, as a guest of the Chateau, you can sit and relax on the terrace with your Gin & Tonic or try a bottle of something from our wine cellars (our wines are selected by noted wine connoisseur and writer, Helen Savage), while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres at the end of the day.

After dinner, whether taken in the Chateau or out at a local restaurant, you can watch the sun go down from our wonderful south facing terrace, wandering out through the French windows from our lounge or library, with an after dinner drink, coffee or tea.

The Chateau’s kitchen is always “Gluten Free” throughout the year (for our Holidays for coeliacs please visit www.chateaudevillars.co.uk)

Sorry, but no pets are permitted at the Chateau. It’s the territory of the Owners Pembroke Corgis!

And, for insurance and safety reasons, smoking is only permitted outside on the terraces or in the grounds, and where it does not disturb the comfort of our non-smoking guests. Thank you for your consideration.
