For Guests wanting to stay at Château de Villars for “Bed & Breakfast”, we have bedrooms with en suite baths or showers available for a two night minimum stay in either the Château or the Trincou Summer House. Staying with us this way means you have full use of the Château and its grounds – you are able to enjoy much more space than just your bedroom, however elegant that may be!  So enjoy the living room, the library, the bar, the glorious outside terrace, the pool deck and more.

If you wish to have dinner at the Château, then by prior reservation, you can enjoy an excellent four course dinner in our dining room, when the wine and chat are plentiful.  Our fixed dinner menu is influenced by the seasons and the fresh produce available from our local farms and markets.

On evenings when you are out to dinner, there are a range of wonderful restaurants in short driving distance, at which we can provide recommendations and arrange reservations.

This is the Perigord  – enjoy all that’s on offer of local produce!

We can arrange transport to local places of interest or, if you have your own transport, advise you where to go so as to fully experience the beauty of the region. You can visit such places as, St Jean de Cole, one of ‘the most beautiful villages in France’, Brantôme, ‘the Venice of the Perigord’, the Château de Puyguilhem, the fantastic Villars cave complex, Bourdeilles, Château de Hautefort, Château de Jumilhac, Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne, with its magnificent old town, or Limoges and its porcelain heritage.

And, if you are touring the Dordogne or the Charente, we can introduce you to other beautiful places to stay, run by friends, to compliment your visit to the area. Be sure to ask us as you plan your holiday!

Alternatively, sit on the terrace and enjoy a well chosen bottle of wine from our wine list, selected by noted wine connoisseur and writer, Helen Savage!

Our Gite

For Guests wanting to enjoy a “self catering” holiday at Château de Villars, come and stay at our Trincou Summer House, situated in the gardens a few metres from the Château, which offers two separate apartments, – both with good sized bedrooms.  Able to generously accommodate up to four guests, the Summer House is entirely at ground floor level for easy access. Each apartment has its own ensuite bathroom (which are being updated for our 2010 season) and separate toilet, and each is freshly decorated in a charming country style. The Trincou Summer House has a comfortable sitting area inside, a well equipped kitchen with oven, stove top and dishwasher and a large outside private terrace for dining & relaxing, overlooking the gardens and the boules court.

The Trincou Summer House is very well equipped for you.  The kitchen has everything you will need.  There is a BBQ outside.  You can dine out on summer nights on the terrace, after cocktails and wine on your terrace watching the sun go down over the Chateau’s gardens.  There is a BBQ outside and seating around a brazier under the Indian Bean Tree where we have lanterns hanging to create a wonderful atmosphere for you.  You have a washer/dryer.  There will be a welcome basket to start you off – some wine, cheese and a baguette (and ask us to shop for other provisions for you for your arrival – we’ll be happy to do so! And there will be some toiletries to set you up – shampoo, soap, and other bathroom needs, as well as ample towels.  And we’ll give you some pool towels for the week as well!   Of course, you can use the Chateau’s heated pool with our other guests, you can come to our bar for an evening cocktail on the Chateau terrace – and you can come and dine in the Chateau by prior reservation!
