Our Bed & Breakfast, our Restaurant & Our Perigord Gites
It’s Your Choice at Chateau de Villars!
Stay with us on a Bed & Breakfast basis B&B (a two night minimum) or stay in one of our Self Catering Gites for a week or more! All the information you need to make your choice is on this page.
Whichever you choose, you can always chose to dine in our gourmet Chateau restaurant!

The Restaurant

If you wish to have dinner at the Château, then by prior reservation on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, you can enjoy an excellent four course dinner in our dining room. In November and December, our restaurant is open on Saturday nights and for Sunday lunch.
Our menu is €26,00 (€3,00 supplement for a cheese course) and is influenced by the seasons and the fresh produce available from our local farms, markets and the Château’s own kitchen garden. The menu changes every day and is a fixed menu comprising entree, plat and dessert. Everything is prepared freshly each day, nothing is bought pre-prepared. As there is no choice, if you are vegetarian or do not eat red meat, please let us know in advance when booking. Our classic French ingredients create a fusion of flavours from around the world and a dining delight for you in an environment of beauty and calm. Gastronomie and Bien-Etre.
Bed & Breakfast/Chambres d’Hotes
For Guests staying at Château de Villars for “Bed & Breakfast”, each of our five Château bedrooms have beautifully appointed en suite baths or showers. Our bedrooms are available for a two night minimum stay. And when you stay in the Chateau, your are in your own home in France – with full use of the Chateau’s sitting room, library (and its many books), bar, and terrace. Your ‘Home from Home’ in the Perigord! We say Chambres d’Hotes but really this is your own Chateau d’Hote!

On evenings when you are out to dinner, there are a range of wonderful restaurants in short driving distance, at which we can provide recommendations and arrange reservations. This is the Périgord - ducks, truffles, foie gras, cider, artisanal cheeses, superb wines – so enjoy all that’s on offer of our local produce! Gastronomie!
If you choose to spend the day at the Château, you can relax in the gardens, walk around the grounds and the village, borrow one of our bicycles (try out the Chateau tandem), take a hike directly out of the front gates into the lush countryside, laze by the pool, or choose a good book from our library.
Alternatively, sit on the terrace and enjoy a well chosen bottle of wine from our wine list!
You will probably arrive by car, but if not we can arrange transport to local places of interest. If you have your own transport, we can advise you as to where to go to fully experience the beauty of the region. You can visit such places as, St Jean de Cole, one of ‘the most beautiful villages in France’, Brantôme, ‘the Venice of the Perigord’, the Château de Puyguilhem, the fantastic Villars cave complex, Bourdeilles, Château de Hautefort, Château de Jumilhac, Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne, with its magnificent old town, or Limoges and its porcelain heritage. And further afield, you can visit the Dordogne Vally, the Auvezere Valley, Lascaux and Montignac, Sarlat, gardens, Les Eysies and the World Heritage site – indeed the choice is endless!
And, if you are touring the Dordogne or the Charente, we can introduce you to other beautiful places to stay, run by friends, to compliment your visit to the area, as well as give you recommendations for Bordeaux and its wine region, St Jean de Luz and the superb coast south of Bordeaux – and in Paris if you stop there for a few days . Be sure to ask us as you plan your holiday!
